It's tempting to think of day centre software as a scaled-down version of a care home's, but the day-to-day reality is different: users arrive and leave every day, often with transport included, and contact with the family is constant because the user goes home every evening.
What's different from a care home
- Daily attendance tracking takes centre stage: who came in today, and at what time.
- Transport, where it exists, needs its own tracking.
- Communication with the family is daily by nature, not occasional.
- Clinical follow-up is still necessary, but at a different pace than for a live-in resident.
What doesn't change
The need for a reliable clinical record, a history per user, and distinct access profiles for staff is exactly the same as in a care home. A day centre doesn't need less rigour, just a different focus on what gets recorded more often.
One system, two ways of working
Software built only for care homes usually falls short on daily attendance tracking; software built only for day centres usually falls short on a continuous clinical history. The ideal is a system that covers both realities without forcing a choice.
At Resiges, attendance management and clinical records live in the same program, adaptable to either a care home or a day centre.
