Switching the software your care home runs on isn't like switching any other supplier: there are years of resident histories, settings tuned to your centre, and a team that already knows where every button is. It's understandably daunting. Here are the questions we usually recommend asking before making the move.
What happens to my current data?
First things first: how is your existing data migrated, how long does it take, and who handles it? Switching software shouldn't mean losing resident history or starting from zero. At Resiges, we can import your data from your previous software, as long as you can provide it to us in a digital, structured format.
How long does the team take to adapt?
The best tool is the one your team actually uses, not the one with the longest feature list on paper. Ask about the real learning curve, not just the list of features.
What if I need to access it from outside the centre tomorrow?
It's increasingly common to need to check something from home, from another centre in the same organisation, or from a tablet on the ward. It's worth asking whether the software offers, or is building, an option that doesn't depend on being physically in front of the centre's computer.
How is my data protected?
The data a care home manages is especially sensitive. It's worth asking how your centre's data is kept separate from other customers', and what backups are configured by default.
Resiges was born over 20 years ago within the sector itself, and its current version — rebuilt from scratch, with both a desktop and a web version — was designed with these exact questions in mind.
